TTR69 Bavaria (Bayern) is Germany’s largest Lande. It contains the industrial powerhouses of Nürnberg and Ingolstadt plus the ancient cites of Ulm and Würzburg, important cities set in a beautiful landscapes. We visit them all to see just how much Die Bahn has changed over the last five years. Off the beaten track we follow a pair of diesel operated mainlines south and west of Marktredwitz and visit the Deutsches Dampflok Museum at Neuenmarkt Wirsberg.  At Kronach, on the Frankenwaldbahn, we look down from the Schloß on the trains as they make their way to Saalfeld and Leipzig. At Kulmbach we try the local beer at the only Brewery in town with a rail connection. Bamberg has enough local freight traffic to justify a hump marshalling yard and we spend some time there. At Ingolstadt we see the NBS nearing completion and Audi cars being prepared for a journey north while at Ulm we scale the Dom to give you unprecedented views over the city. Running time 90 mins
