BTL1 Welcome to Between the Lines- a new video magazine for European rail and model rail enthusiasts. Each quarter will see a main feature plus supporting articles covering areas of railway and model railway interest in Europe, and occasionally further afield.
In BTL 1 for our principal feature we visit: Germany in very early 2006. with snow on the ground we follow Die Bahn going about its daily business from Cologne in the north, lots of freight near Troisdorf, down the Rhein Main NBS to Limburg, up to Gießen then down to Würzburg, Treuchtlingen and Nürnberg.

Freight around Kledering in Austria- one of the great gathering points for trains to and from the old east, the RMT- the iconic steam tram that runs across the dunes south west of Rotterdam, and on our visit a must for those with an interest in military vehicles on rail, Zaragoza in Spain- a look at the city and the pre AVE railway, complete with a Talgo cab ride!
Finally Rolf Fleischmann gives us some history of the famous model makers, and tells us what’s new at the Nürnberg Toy Fair.
